Case Study: Visualizing Global Requirements — The mauzcategui71 Heatmap System

1. The Essentials

  • Project Name: mauzcategui71 Requirement Monitoring
  • Client/Organization: Mauzcategui (Business / Fiverr Client)
  • Your Role: Data Visualization Specialist & AppSheet Architect
  • Duration: March 2023 (Consultation & Implementation)
  • Core Contribution: Developing geographic heatmaps for multi-branch requirement status monitoring.

2. The "Why" (The Problem)

The client, Mauzcategui, faced a massive data visualization challenge while managing requirement statuses across a complex logistics and branch network.

  • The "Data Fog": They were monitoring requirement statuses across multiple products, in different cities, for numerous client branches. Using standard tables made it impossible to see where "hot zones" of unfulfilled requirements were.
  • Geographic Fragmentation: Management needed to quickly identify which cities or specific branches were lagging behind without drilling into thousands of individual rows.
  • Operational Blindness: Without a visual indicator, resource allocation was reactive rather than strategic.

3. The "How" (The Action)

We transformed a flat data list into a multi-dimensional heatmap dashboard.

  • Requirement Status Mapping:
    • Organized data streams to track "Requirement Status" against branch locations and product categories.
  • Heatmap Engineering:
    • Developed a custom Heatmap Visualization within AppSheet. This allowed the client to see color-coded density markers representing requirement fulfillment across different cities.
    • Integrated multi-level filtering so managers could view the heatmap by product type or specific city branches simultaneously.
  • Strategic Consultation:
    • Facilitated a consultation meeting in March 2023 to map the specific KPIs that would drive the heatmap’s color gradients, ensuring the visual output aligned perfectly with business priorities.

4. The "So What?" (The Results)

  • Quantifiable Success:
    • Successfully moved the client from 100% tabular reporting to a visual-first dashboard.
    • Provided a unified view of requirements for multiple products across multiple cities in a single, high-density screen.
  • Qualitative Success: The "fun" of the project was in its impact—turning a stressful data-monitoring task into an intuitive, visual experience. The client gained the ability to "see" their business at a glance, allowing for proactive resource shifts to branches identified as high-need areas on the heatmap.

5. LinkedIn "Hook" Potential

Stop looking at rows. Start looking at trends.

In March 2023, I helped Mauzcategui kill "Data Fatigue." They were tracking product requirements across dozens of cities and branches using spreadsheets. We gave them a Heatmap.

The Transformation: Instead of scrolling through thousands of rows to find out which branch was failing, management can now look at a map. If a city is "Red," that’s where the focus goes.

The Lesson: Data is useless if it’s invisible. When you move from "Data Entry" to "Data Visualization," you move from being a record-keeper to being a strategist.

Key Takeaway: The best apps don't just store your data; they show you where your next big problem is before it happens.
